Following fatal tornadoes and flooding, US President Barack Obama has signed a disaster declaration for the State of Tennessee.
Under Sunday's declaration, residents of the counties of Bradley, Greene, Hamilton, and Washington are to be assisted with home reconstruction, temporary housing, and help with uninsured property damages, the Associated Press reported.
Tennessee Governor, Bill Haslam has requested the support of an additional four eastern counties in the state under the declaration.
Some 34 people have been declared dead in the state of Tennessee.
This is while more than 360 people have lost their lives in a series of over 200 tornadoes in southern United States.
Alabama has suffered the most deaths, as some 254 people have been reportedly killed.
The worst tornado outbreak to hit the United States was in March 1925, when 747 people died.
