Rogerio Ceni, the Brazilian Sao Paulo Football Club goalkeeper, has scored his 100th goal during a victorious game against the Corinthians.
Ceni has become the first goalkeeper in history to achieve the hundred goal mark after scoring the game's second goal on Sunday.
He managed to net the team's second goal in a long distance free kick during the second half, while making some saves as well.
However, FIFA counts Ceni's goals to be at 98 since the International Football Association Board does not recognize two of his goals made in friendly matches against the Russian team, Uralan, back in 2000 and with the Brazilian teams Flamengo and Santos in 1998.
The Sao Paulo FC goalie has topped his retired Paraguayan counterpart Jose Luis Chilavert's record of 62 goals back in the 1990s.
The Brazilian goalkeeper has scored 56 goals in long distance free kicks, and 44 while kicking penalties.
Ceni will probably have completed 1,000 games for the Sao Paulo Football Club by the end of 2011.
Back in 2005, he scored some 21 goals, including one in the FIFA Intercontinental Clubs Cup, and several in the Libertadores da America Cup.
He also played for the Brazilian national squad during the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
Rogerio Ceni was named to be among the top ten best goalkeepers in the world between 2005 and 2009.
