Ahmadinejad lauds Iranian athletes

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has praised the medal winners of the first edition of the Asian Para Games held in Guangzhou, China.
The Iranian president showed his appreciation of the winners at a ceremony where he expressed hope that the Iranian athletes would be in position to stand on the second place in the next Asian tournament and 15 in the Olympics.
The Iranian squad won 80 medals (27 gold, 24 sliver, and 29 bronze medals) to stand fourth in the 2010 Asian Para Games.
"I am certain and believe that the Iranian youths, athletes, and scientists would achieve every goal they seek," he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
A total of 156 Iranian athletes, including 34 women and 122 men, in 15 sports fields participated in the games held in December 2010.
The games were organized by the Asian Paralympics Committee in cooperation with the Guangzhou Asian Para Games organizing committee.
