A US-led alliance soldier has been killed in eastern Afghanistan, bringing the death toll for foreign troops to 600 in 2010.
The military alliance said in the early hours on Monday that the soldier was killed in a militant attack but did not give any other details, AFP reported.
An improvised explosive device blast killed a NATO soldier in the south of the war-torn country of Afghanistan on Sunday, NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement.
The United States and NATO have more than 150,000 soldiers in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban, whose strongholds are in the southern provinces of Kandahar and Helmand.
A total of 600 foreign soldiers have been killed in the Afghan war so far this year, eclipsing the previous record of 521 in 2009.
As casualties have risen in Afghanistan over the past few months, public opinion has begun turning against the war in the United States and other countries.
